Policy
16How Raintree handles information on this website.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how FinSync LLC, operating as Raintree Technology ("Raintree," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you visit raintree.technology or communicate with us. It describes what we collect, why we process it, how we protect it, and the choices available to you. This policy applies to the Raintree Technology website at raintree.technology.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
When you email us or otherwise reach out, we may receive your name, email address, phone number, company name, and any project details or other information you choose to include in your message.
Information collected automatically
Vercel processes ordinary request and server-log data to deliver and secure the site. This technical data can include an IP address, timestamp, requested URL, browser or user-agent information, and other request details. Separately, Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights provide aggregated or pseudonymized metrics such as pages viewed, referring domain, country or region, browser, device type, operating system, web performance, campaign parameters, and selected site interactions. We do not use these tools to identify you or build a cross-site profile.
3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Current cookie use
The public website does not currently set application session cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies. Vercel Web Analytics uses a temporary hash derived from an incoming request instead of a cookie or persistent identifier. The hash resets after 24 hours and is not used to track visitors across websites.
Analytics and performance
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to understand aggregated or pseudonymized traffic, campaign attribution, content and project interest, contact intent, and site performance. Custom events contain fixed context such as a project slug or link placement; they do not include email addresses, raw copied commands, free-form text, or other information visitors enter.
No advertising cookies
We do not use tracking cookies for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site profiling purposes.
Consent and controls
Because the current analytics tools do not store or access cookies on your device, the site does not currently display an analytics cookie banner. If we introduce non-essential cookies or comparable device storage or access, we will request prior consent where applicable law requires it before enabling that technology. The site also suppresses Web Analytics and Speed Insights when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal or enables Do Not Track. Browser content-blocking tools may prevent these scripts from loading without affecting site functionality.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes: to respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about potential or ongoing engagements; to improve our website’s performance, content, and user experience; to analyze aggregate usage trends and site traffic; to detect and prevent security threats or technical issues; and to comply with applicable legal obligations.
5. Legal Basis for Processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing personal information, we rely on legitimate interests to operate and secure the site, respond to business inquiries, and evaluate aggregated or pseudonymized usage and performance where permitted by law; consent where it is specifically requested; and compliance with legal obligations where required by law. If an analytics technology requires consent under applicable law, we will not activate that technology until consent has been obtained.
6. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the website or conduct business. Our website provider is Vercel, which supplies hosting, edge delivery, request and server logs, Web Analytics, and Speed Insights. We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
7. Data Retention
Contact inquiries
Information related to business inquiries is retained for up to 24 months after your last contact with us, or for the duration of any resulting engagement plus 24 months, whichever is longer.
Analytics data
The visitor hash used by Vercel Web Analytics resets after 24 hours. Aggregated or pseudonymized analytics and performance reports remain available according to our Vercel account settings and are not intended to identify an individual visitor.
Legal obligations
We may retain certain information for longer periods where required to satisfy legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you; the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and the right to opt out of certain data processing activities. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information below. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.
10. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and do not engage in cross-site tracking. When the website detects a Global Privacy Control or enabled Do Not Track signal, it suppresses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights for that browser.
11. California Residents
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to request deletion of your personal information, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, and the right to not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CPRA, and we do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
12. International Visitors
Our website is operated from the United States. If you visit from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. We do not treat access to or use of the website as consent to an international transfer. Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or equivalent mechanisms recognized by your jurisdiction.
13. Children’s Privacy
Our website and services are not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided personal information to us may contact us at hello@raintree.technology to request its deletion.
14. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not operated by us. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal obligations. We will post the updated policy and revise the "Last updated" date on this page. For material changes, we will provide a prominent website notice and, when we have appropriate contact information, an email notice before or when the change takes effect. An update to this policy does not by itself create consent. If a material change introduces optional processing that requires consent, we will request fresh, specific consent before that processing begins.
